We have students from Gisborne Boys High School set up as READING MENTORS who meet us each Monday at HB Williams Library in Gisborne to read, talk, discuss with our Kura Teina. Statistics show that maori immersed children tend to become bored, fed up and HOHA with speaking māori. Another positive effect with mentors here, is to see teenagers, young men, role models speaking the reo - and being enthusiastic about it. We are grateful for our mentors and Thank staff at GBHS and also HB Williams for this amazing opportunity!
